Dr. Chen founded Austin Medical group in 1998 in Austin, Texas.
As president of the practice, Dr. Chen oversees day to day operations
of the internal medicine group specializing in providing care for
hospital patients. Dr. Chen serves a Physician Reviewer for the Texas
Medical Foundation. He is responsible for reviewing medical
documentation throughout the state of Texas, assessing the
appropriateness and quality of care and if warranted, recommending
changes. He also serves as a Medical Director and Chairman of the
Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee at Cornerstone Hospital in
Austin, Texas. Dr. Chen received his Bachelor of Science in Biological
Science from Cornell University and his Doctor of Medicine at the
University of Rochester School of Medicine in NewYork. In 1999, Dr.
Chen completed is MBA at the University of Houston. Dr. Chen's
postgraduate medical training includes a Residency in
Urology/General Surgery and Internal Medicine. Dr. Chen is a
member of the Travis County Medical Society, the Texas Medical
Association, the American College of Physicians, the American
Society of Internal Medicine, the American Society of Physician
Executives and is on the Board of Trustees for the Capitol Area
American Heart Association.
